Jet Airways has announced special low fares for travellers to beat what is considered lean season in aviation business. The Mumbai-based carrier has announced 20 percent discount on business and economy class on base fares on its India network for a limited period.
The limited period discount offer will be applicable on tickets booked between June 2 and 6 for travel between June 25 and September 30, PTI reported, citing a press release by Jet Airways.
MakeMyTrip, the online travel portal made an analysis of air fares and said that fares have fallen by up to 35 percent on domestic and 16 percent on international routes during the April to June quarter this year as against the corresponding period last year, PTI further said.
Last month, SpiceJet had announced a three-day sale of tickets with domestic base-fare starting from Rs. 511 and international base-fare starting from Rs. 2,111 to mark its 11th anniversary.
The national carrier launched a limited period "super sale" scheme, offering passengers all-inclusive tickets starting as low as Rs 1,499 on its domestic network for tickets booked between May 21 and 25 for travel between July and September 30.
The budget carrier had offered 50 percent discount on two-way flights for three days (May 16-18) for travel between August 1 and November 30, 2016 on its domestic network.
