A Gurgaon resident, Mohammad Abdullah, was on January 20 handed over to Delhi Police for spending 10 days at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on a forged Etihad ticket.
The native of Hyderabad managed to stay unnoticed by airport staff and security personnel until he was finally noticed by a housekeeping staff who alerted CISF.
Times of India reported that Abdullah had on January 11 checked in with Etihad with the help of a manipulated Etihad ticket to United Arab Emirates, but he was caught and the matter was reported to CISF. He was later let off. However, within an hour he came back with another printout of the ticket and managed to enter the airport from another gate.
This time though he did not get out of airport for 10 days without raising suspicion. A housekeeping staff finally noticed that a man had been at the terminal for quite a few days and thus informed CISF. Taking cognisance of the situation, all the agencies, including intelligence, were informed and a team of guards took him out of the terminal.
