Modi’s new Air India One to be comparable with Air Force One

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi will soon get a brand new Air India One aircraft which will be much like US President Barack Obama’s Air Force One, as per a media report.

Air India One’s aircraft will be upgraded to state-of-the art Boeing 777-300 which will be fitted with the latest in technology. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to finalise the deal of two new Boeing 777-300s in the Defence Acquisition Council meeting to be held on June 25.

Air India One is actually the call sign of the aircraft used when Prime Minister Of India is one board on any aircraft. Currently, The Prime Minister of India travels on Boeing 747-400 aircraft owned by Air India and operated by Indian Air Force for overseas travel. Apart from this there is one more Boeing 747 as standby aircraft, four Embraer 135 aircraft and three Boeing Business Jet also in the fleet for VVIP flying movements which caters domestic and nearby country visits.
