Aurangabad: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has submitted a detailed report to its Delhi-based headquarters refuting allegations about the presence of stray dogs on the airstrip on June 14, which delayed the Mumbai-bound flight for over an hour.
The airport authorities came under severe criticism from all quarters, leading to a blame game between various agencies, including the civic body and the CISF.
The CISF, which is responsible for the security of key government installations including airports across the country, took a serious note of the allegations about its failure at the Aurangabad airport. The agency wasted no time in probing the incident, and accordingly, its higher officials scanned video footage captured by 93 CCTV cameras installed at the Aurangabad airport. After scanning the footage, the CISF said the claims made by the airport authorities were untrue.
CISF authorities said there were no dogs on the airstrip when the Air India flight taking off for Mumbai. Moreover, no dog was spotted in the footage of June 14 between 6am and midnight, barring a stray dog at the main entrance of the airport, they said.
