Passengers escape unhurt as Air India flight’s tyre burst while landing at Srinagar airport, flights cancelled

Srinagar: Air traffic to and from the Srinagar International Airport was halted on Thursday after an Air India flight’s tyre burst while landing on the runway.
The plane was carrying security personnel from Jammu to Srinagar. Officials said that over 130 passengers were on board but no one was injured when the mishap occurred.

The Air India flight AI 3821 was, reportedly, a chartered flight carrying security personnel. The tyre burst, officials said, causing a “groove” on the runway thus making it unsuitable for landing or take-off.
Officials said that the passengers and crew members had a narrow escape but all of them were safely evavcuated.
