Airport devpt tender date extended

Nagpur: After big players like Tatas, GVR and GVK showed initial interest in the proposal for developing Nagpur airport, tenders for roping in a strategic partner, which were supposed to be opened on Monday, have been extended till August 29.
Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) had invited tenders for roping in a private investor for developing the airport as an international cargo and passenger hub as a part of Mihan project. There were 7-8 companies which showed interest, but no bids have been received yet. The dates were extended as the companies had sought more time to submit the tenders.
The strategic private partner will have to undertake development works to the tune of at least 1,420 crore in the beginning.
