New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday told the Delhi High Court that the fee of Rs. 100 on every kilogram of check-in baggage over the allowed limit was arrived at by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation after considering the normal carriage charges on routes like Delhi-Kolkata.
The Centre told a bench of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva that it had considered normal carriage charges on routes like Delhi-Bombay or Delhi -Kolkata and added it to the airport charges to arrive at the figure of Rs. 100 on every kg of check-in baggage in excess of the allowed limit.
The court had asked the Centre how it had arrived at Rs. 100 fee.
