Mopa: Bidders need time for proposals

Porvorim: The state government has once again extended the time required for bidders to submit their request for proposals (RFP's) to construct the greenfield international airport at Mopa by another month. This has come on a request from the bidders. Now, the last day to submit the financial document is August 26.
Speaking to TOI , director for civil aviation S Shanbogue said that the idea behind granting the extension is to make an effort to get more bidders, which will result in better competition and higher revenue-sharing.
He also said that there was a request from Essel Infra and Voluptas Developers (part of the Hiranandani group) for more time to submit its RFP. Essel Infra had partnered with Zurich airport to bid for the project. Shanbogue said that Zurich airport has exited from the consortium and Essel Infra then applied to the department to grant them time to look for a replacement partner. He also said that Essel Infra has a new partner in South Korean company, Incheon, to bid for the project.
