Terminal can accommodate 200 passengers

The Hubballi airport is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 140 crore. Once ready, the airport will be able to host wide-body aircraft.
Airport director Shivanand Benal told TOI they have prepared the ground for Air India to start its operation. The runway has been expanded from 1,674 metres to 2,600 metres. The terminal building, which is getting ready, can accommodate up to 200 passengers at a time. More domestic airlines are likely to link Hubballi with the rest of southern cities, besides connecting Mumbai, Delhi and Goa.
