Two more flights from Biju Patnaik airport

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik International Airport will get two more domestic flights, starting September 12, after IndiGo has decided to run one flight each to Delhi and Kolkata.
Airport director R Mahalingam said with the addition of two flights, IndiGo will have four flights connecting Kolkata and five to Delhi. "The new flights will boost domestic traffic in the current financial year. We expect a few more proposals from some small airlines, which are in pipeline, by the end of the year," said Mahalingam.
Airport sources said IndiGo also plans to run a flight to Jaipur from October. IndiGo has placed its request to civil aircraft manufacturer, Airbus to procure an aircraft for the purpose. "We have had discussion with the airline to connect the city to Jaipur," the director said.
