After Air Pegasus, Air Costa suspends all flights for the day

Mumbai: Crisis is looming in the regional aviation market with Vijaywada-based Air Costa suspending all operations today on the back of financial woes.

Air Costa is second regional airline to suspend all operations within a week of Air Pegasus grounding its operations.

A spokesperson for Air Costa confirmed that operations have been suspended for the day and said that normal operations will resume tomorrow.

Non-payment of lease rent is said to be the reason for the airline suspending operations, but the spokesperson said that the airline was receiving good support from plane manufacturer Embraer and its lessors. Industry sources said that all the staff has been asked to take a leave today. However, the spokesperson for the airline denied it.

Air Costa has three E-190 planes and flies 24-28 flights a day covering nine destinations.
