Kalaikunda (West Bengal): It was a miraculous escape for two Indian Air Force fighter pilots when they ejected from Hawk Advanced trainer that jet crashed here on Thursday.
According to sources, the trainer jet was on a routine sortie. It took off from the IAF base situated in the region and minutes after being air-borne, it developed some technical snag and the two pilots ejected in time and were safe, said sources.
Sources said that the ill-fated Hawk aircraft was procurred just a few years back.
The crash occurred around 11.00 am, said an official.
