Bengaluru: Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB) clocked one million planes taking off and landing at the airport on Wednesday, since it started operation on May 24, 2008.
This is a landmark achievement for the airport. In 2015, also the airport achieved a status of mid-sized airport category airport, when it recorded 18 million flyers during the year.
On an average, it caters to 60,000 flyers every day and over 400 air traffic movements (landing and arrival) happens. There are over 40 airlines that have trips connecting KIA to various places including international destinations.
