Deflated front tyre grounds Air India aircraft

Bhopal: Forty-five flyers on board Delhi-bound Air India flight 834, which was about to take off from Raja Bhoj Airport here on Saturday morning, were offloaded after a flat tyre was detected. The passengers were later flown to the national capital by another flight while flight 834 has been grounded till the tyre is replaced.
AI manager (MP and Chhattisgarh) Vishrut Acharya said flight was not allowed to take off after flat tyre was noticed when pilot was ready for take off. "Pilot saw something unusual with front wheel tyre. On closure inspection, it was found that it had deflated. As take off was not possible in such a situation, aircraft was grounded," said Acharya.
He said: "All the 45 travellers who were on board were informed about the snag. They were were flown to Delhi by another flight in the evening. Arrangement for replacement of tyre has been made." Sources said deflated tyre could have resulted in a major tragedy had pilot not seen it.
