Shocking revelation: When Air India flight daily carried Nehru's love letter for Edwina to London

New Delhi: There are many interesting tales surrounding India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru's life in Indian history but the one which got too much attention was his love affair with Lord Mountbatten's wife, Edwina Mountbatten. Many people in India refused to believe in Nehru's relationship with Lady Mountbatten but many historians, publication house, letters, etc claimed that Nehru and Edwina were deeply in love .
But there is an another interesting tale not known to many. After India's independence in 1947, Lord Mountbatten and his wife Edwina Mountbatten had returned to Britain and Nehru had become the nation's first prime minister.

In those days, the letter was the only communication medium to know about each other. So, following the same, the much-in-love Nehruji wrote letters to his beloved Edwina. Surprisingly, the government-owned airline, Air India flight daily carried Nehru's letter to London to deliver his love message to his lady love. The High Commission of India was given the responsibility to drop the letter.
In the same way, Edwina also gave her letter to High Commission so that through return flight it reaches to Nehruji. The process of sending and receiving love letters continued for a long time.
