Ceasefire: Air India, IndiGo ad war ends

Three weeks after they launched an ad war at the Mumbai airport, Air India and IndiGo have declared a ceasefire.

Both airlines have taken off advertisement hoarding targeting each other that had been put up at the Mumbai airport.

The ad war started after Air India put up a board behind the IndiGo check in counter which said, “Wish you a comfortable flight. Next time fly with Air India and feel the difference.” IndiGo responded with, “Yes, Air India, there is a difference. Says the Government.”

AI hit back with an ad which said, “How do some of our friends react when their passengers discover that we offer more leg space, hot meals and more luggage allowance?…With INDIGnation!”

Both airlines blamed each other for initiating the ad war. While Air India said its ad did not name any airline, IndiGo said the fact that the Air India ad was placed behind its check in counter raised questions.
