It’s a deluge of taxis at Goa airport

Dabilim: While prepaid taxi services at Konkan Railway stations in Goa appear to be more or less regulated, the same can't be said about those on offer at the Goa international airport in Dabolim. One is welcomed by long queues of taxis of different colours at the arrival and departure areas, a scenario that puts the Goa airport in a unique bracket.
"The mandatory parking space is quite far from the airport arrival zone. It is a hassle to walk that distance to pick up the car and then park it again after the trip is complete. That's why we park it nearby on the road for quick access," a prepaid taxi driver disclosed.
There are over 350 prepaid taxis that run on rates approved by the government. But, unlike railway stations maintained by the Konkan Railway Corporation, the airport's arrival and departure area is bugged with around 250 private taxi drivers as well, who park their vehicles at a distance and offer competitive prices to arriving passengers. Operating vehicles sans digital meters, they then confirm their rates according to their clients; fares are moderate for the Indian commuters who know how to bargain, but tend to rise steeply for foreigners.
