Toilet in front of Dabolim airport arrival gate is an eyesore, CM concurs

Vasco: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Tuesday said that toilet in front of arrival gate of Dabolim airport is an eyesore and highly objectionable.

He was reacting to the news article published in Herald last Thursday wherein all four MLA’s and ministers from Mormugao taluka had raised serious concerns over toilet in front of the arrival gate and had asked the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to shift the same before the forthcoming BRICS summit to be held in Goa later this week.
“If there is a toilet in front of the arrival gate, then, it is an eyesore and objectionable, AAI managing the affairs at the Dabolim airport and they should have shifted the same before the BRICS summit to some other place. However, since the summit is this week, AAI will not have enough time to shift the same,” Parsekar said.
“AAI should shift the toilet immediately after the BRICS summit as the same would be an eyesore for domestic as well as foreign tourists coming down to Goa,” the chief minister added.
When Herald a reporter showed a picture of some locals not using the toilet and urinating outside the toilet, Parsekar said, “It is serious. I will issue directions to the AAI to take immediate steps to control such menace.”
