Smoke In Cockpit Of Air India's Dreamliner B787 Plane In Delhi

Smoke was detected in the cockpit of Air India's Dreamliner B787 plane when it was on the way to New Delhi from Kolkata but it landed safely at Indira Gandh International Airport.

Air India flight AI 701 took off at 1730 hours from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport for Delhi on Sunday.

"However, when the aircraft was mid-way, the pilot detected some fumes and smoke in the cockpit. But, it was confined to cockpit only as the crew did not report any such smoke in the cabin. The crew then declared emergency onboard and aircraft was steered to Delhi after taking some additional safety measures," airline sources said on Monday.
