IGI Airport theft case cracked; 218 mobile phones, goods worth Rs 21 lakh recovered

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport Unit has arrested a person, identified as Jumman Khan in a theft case.
The IGI Airport Unit has recovered stolen mobile phones, garments and sports shoes worth Rs 21 lakh.
The theft had taken place on December 16. Three days later, the authorities received a complaint of theft.
Trader Inder Singh filed a complaint with the IGI Airport authorities about a theft of goods that took place on December 16.
Inder Singh told the authorities that he had a transport business in the name of I-Trans. He claimed that he had a contract with E-com Express Private Ltd for transportation of their goods.
Inder Singh hired Jumman Khan as driver for transportation of goods as his regular driver was on leave.
On the night of December 16, Jumman Khan was sent to cargo terminal of the IGI Airport, New Delhi to pick up goods off-loaded from a flight in Eicher truck.
Jumman Khan received the goods at the cargo terminal complex but he did not deliver them at Inder Singh's place at Samalakha. He took all the goods to his rented accommodation at K-block, Mangolpur in Delhi.
Jumman Khan came back to the IGI Airport and abandoned the truck there before vanishing from the scene.
Three days later, Inder Singh lodged complaint with the authorities.
On December 20, the accused was apprehended from K-Block, Mangolpuri. Later, all the stolen goods were recovered from his rented accommodation.
