Passengers of five flights suffered major delays due to late arrivals of different flights from various cities to Visakhapatnam Airport on Thursday. According to Visakhapatnam airport sources, bad weather prevalent in Bengaluru and Delhi led to consequential delays for different flights being routed from these two cities.
Flights of Air India (AI651) from Raipur to Vizag with onward journey to Mumbai was delayed by nearly five hours, whereas two AirAsia flights (I5 1452 and 1458) from Bengaluru to Vizag were also delayed by more than three hours.
Similarly, Indigo flight (6E 288) from Bengaluru to Vizag was delayed by more than three hours and SpiceJet flight (SG502) from Chennai to Vizag also was delayed by five hours.
According to airport sources, Indigo flight from Bengaluru to Vizag, which was scheduled to arrive in the port city at 7.25 am, arrived at 10.30 am and departed at around 11 am on its return journey. The delays were attributed to inclement weather at Bengaluru Airport.
