Long wait for those flying abroad

Visakhapatnam: Even though passenger traffic at Visakhapatnam airport has increased significantly in the last couple years, passengers going abroad - especially to the US - are complaining that lack of direct flights to various international destinations is leading to longer waiting times at airports such as Delhi and Mumbai. Apparently, passengers heading to London, Paris, Frankfurt or Rome in Europe are being forced to wait anywhere between 3 and 11 hours for a connecting flight from Delhi or Mumbai.
According to air travellers, passengers have to wait for anywhere between 4 and 15 hours to get a connecting flight from airports such as Delhi and Mumbai to reach the US. Passengers complain that apart from the travel time of around 15 hours from India to Delhi, the additional layover time for 15 hours of waiting in airports is tiring, especially when elderly people and businessmen from north coastal AP head to the US for work or to visit their children.
