Political leaders can't question our commitment, AI pilot writes to aviation minister

Three days after aviation minister AG Raju reportedly had said that something was 'lacking' in the commitment shown by Air India employees, a senior pilot of the airline hit out at the political class and questioned their commitment to the nation.
Titled "lagging In Inspiration, not Commitment", the letter by a senior AI pilot sent to Raju says: "As a committed Air India employee, an honest taxpayer and a patriotic citizen, I am constrained to point out that both the recent winter sessions of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were a complete washout due to frequent disruptions by your colleagues in parliament. Ninety-two hours of work were lost in the Lok Sabha alone and hardly any business was transacted. In fact, it was observed that the rules on slogan shouting, displaying posters and obstructing proceedings were blatantly flouted."
"In the light of above, employees of AI are also equally pained to observe that our politicians are 'still lagging well behind in their commitment' to the nation as compared to most of their counterparts elsewhere in the world!"
The pilot, who flies AI's long-range Boeing 777, has pointed out that behaving like Parliamentarians did in the recently-concluded session would have earned AI employees an instant "reprimand," if not sacking by the government.
