RGNAU signs MoU with Rolls-Royce

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) has partnered with global integrated power and propulsion solutions provider Rolls-Royce for the skill development of its faculty and also to meet the future requirements of the domestic aviation industry.

The two signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony that took place as part of the Visitor's Conference at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, a release said.

The MoU was signed by Air Vice Marshall (retd) Nalin Kumar Tandon Vice Chancellor of RGNAU and Rolls-Royce, India and South Asia, president Kishore Jayaraman in the presence of President Pranab Mukherjee, it said.

"This partnership will help our faculty and students develop the most appropriate skills they will need in the aviation industry by gaining access to the global technical experts," Tandon said.

Set up at Fursat Gunj in UP, the university aims at facilitating and promoting aviation studies and research. It is expected to start functioning from the academic session of 2017.

As India's first aviation university, the university will commence training of aerospace/rocket engineers, aspiring pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians/engineers and cabin/ground crew.
