BIAL & Govt working on alternative roads to airport, says Civil Aviation Minister

The Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) is working with the State Government on building alternative routes to the Kempegowda International Airport, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said.
The alternative connectivity project includes (a) widening and improvements in Jala-Mylanahalli road from Mylanahalli to Begur and (b) land acquisition and construction of approach road from Begur to southwest corner of the airport boundary, the Minister said in a letter to Bengaluru Central MP P.C.Mohan. The airport, Raju said, has recognised the need and urgency for a second road connectivityto the airport for both operational and emergency reasons.
"BIAL understands that land survey has been completed and preliminary notification has been issued for land acquisition. PWD has been identified as the implementation agency for external road construction and the road within the airport boundary will be construction by BIAL," the Minister said.
