SpiceJet to ‘Go Green’ this Republic Day

Inspired by the colour green from the national flag which resonates fertility, growth, greenery and auspiciousness, SpiceJet, the country’s favourite carrier, in its attempt to paint the country green, will be distributing ‘seed cards’ on-board all its flights celebrating the spirit of nationalism this Republic Day.

The initiative rolled out on the occasion of the country’s 68th Republic Day is a petite step towards a grander vision of making the country more green and prosperous. With the humble scheme in place, the airline also intends to encourage and habituate passengers with the idea of planting and growing trees.

The national festival will also feature the airline’s workforce in a special dress code reinstating patriotism and oneness. The Airport Services staff will be seen decked in tri-colour attires on the D-day while the flag pinned above their name badges from 25th January 17 till 30th January 2017. On the day, all cabin crew will be dressed in their weekend uniforms, with the female crew wearing the orange kurti.

SpiceJet will also be flaunting decors in tri-color shades to elevate the in-house and airport ambience in sync with Republic day celebrations. Tri-color headrests with the seed card caption and text will be placed on the seats on 26th and 27th January 2017. The airline will also play the national anthem on all its Boeing and Q400 flights for a duration of 58 seconds right after landing once the seat belt sign is switched off.
