Breast cancer awareness campaign at airport

Coimbatore: The three-day awareness campaign on breast cancer organised at Coimbatore International Airport concluded on Monday.

The campaign was organised by Airports Authority of India’s women welfare association ‘Kalyanmayee’ along with Chennai-based social welfare organisation India Turns Pink (ITP).

Aimed at ‘Breast Cancer Free India 2030’, the campaign focused on early detection of the disease through various awareness activities for employees at the airport as well passengers.

The campaign started on February 4, World Cancer Day.

The airport and premises were decorated with pink ribbons, flags and posters on breast cancer awareness. Posters also carried the tagline: “Namma Coimbatore airport turns pink”.
