HC seeks info on airport facilities

Srinagar: The State High Court today asked Ministry of Civil Aviation to inform the court by tomorrow as to what steps have taken for providing facilities to the passengers.
The High Court comprising Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey sought fresh status about steps taken on necessary facilities at International Airport Srinagar by tomorrow and keep the matter on board for tomorrow for seeking fresh instructions from the concerned authorities.
The Division Bench was hearing suo moto proceedings on the issue for providing all necessary facilities to the passengers, travelling to and fro Kashmir by air and in this regard court has already arrayed Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India, Air Commodore Indian Airports as also Chief Secretary of the State as respondents in the PIL.
Court had previously directed the authorities to take immediate steps for providing all necessary facilities to the passengers, travelling to and fro Kashmir by air. “It is further provided that whatever steps, required to be taken for providing the facilities to the passengers and ensuring their smooth travel, shall be taken forthwith”, DB directed and sough compliance report from all these authorities by or before next date of hearing which has been fixed by the court in the week commencing from December 26.
