Indore: Gearing up for the next phase of overhaul of the city airport, district administration will soon organise a meeting of all stakeholders to discuss plan of action and other major issues, including acquisition of 28 acre land by the airport authorities.
Following construction of new terminal building in the airport, the eye is on upgrading passenger facilities and security measures. However, for quite some time the airport authorities have been demanding the 28 acre vacant land just opposite the new terminal building to accommodate extended car parking area, passenger and visitors’ lounge and new air traffic control tower among other facilities.
Sources said that despite airport authorities’ demand for the land, district administration was yet to get convinced on the feasibility of the project and therefore, had asked for a detailed presentation before handing over the land to Airport Authority of India (AAI).
