Passengers and visitors had a refreshing experience at the Gannavaram airport on Monday as the services at the recently inaugurated interim terminal became fully functional.
The first boarding pass was issued by Airport Director G. Madhusudhana Rao to a passenger. After a trial run on Sunday night with passengers of a Trujet flight, the new terminal was made fully operational from Monday morning.
“Passengers and others who visited the new terminal were thrilled at the new facility. From now on it will be the terminal for Vijayawada airport and the old terminal, which was used till date, will remain closed,” Mr. Madhusudhana Rao said.
