Surat: The Surat Airport Action Committee (SAAC) has threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike at the airport if their demand for an international airport is not met by September 30.
SAAC has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju demanding that an announcement about international operations from Surat airport should be made before the Gujarat assembly elections are announced. "Else SAAC members and like-minded citizens will start an indefinite hunger strike from October 1," the letter states.
SAAC president Sanjay Ezhawa shared the official documents gathered from the central and state governments regarding the development of Surat international airport.
