75gm gold seized from air passenger

Air intelligence wing of customs, Trichy, seized 75 grams of gold from Bahrudeen of Trichy when he landed at Trichy airport from Kuala lumpur on Wednesday evening. He concealed the gold worth Rs2.27 lakh in his rectum. The wing also seized 160 grams of gold worth Rs4.85 lakh from Rajadurai of Salem and Pandiaraj of Sivaganga after they landed at Trichy airport from Singapore on Tuesday. They concealed the gold in their inner wear. They also caught the receiver of the gold, Pandian from Pudukkottai.
Development works worth Rs398 cr carried out: Trichy district collector KS Palanisamy has stated that 3,13,250 development works were carried out at a total cost of Rs398 crore in rural parts of the district through the district rural development agency (DRDA) between 2011 and 2017. The schemes included green house, individual toilets, integrated school buildings and few other projects.
