Surat: Passengers arriving and departing from the Surat airport will not have to worry about their travel arrangements. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is all set to extend its BRTS bus services on Piplod and Udhana-Magdalla junctions to the Surat airport next month.
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) had written to the civic body to extend the BRTS services inside the airport, to facilitate passengers travel to and from the city.
The civic body is operating the BRTS from Udhna-Magdalla and Pilod till TGB Hotel on the Dumas road. Recently, the civic body has introduced direct city buses from Chowk Bazaar to Dumas as well.
Sources in the BRTS cell said that the spot where the buses will halt inside the airport premise has been finalized. The time slots of the buses would be set as per the arrival and departure of the flights from the airport.
