Army, police hold mock drill at army aviation base

Nashik: The defence department personnel along with the police conducted a mock drill at the Gandhinagar army aviation base to stay prepared to tackle any kind of anti-national activity.
The drill, which lasted for 100 minutes, was attended by the senior army and police officials too.
As part of the drill, the city police control room received a call around 9.30am about some terrorists entering the Gandhinagar army aviation base. The information was passed on to police commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, who immediately alerted all the DCPs, ACPs and other officials about the plan of action.
Subsequently, the Quick Response Team (QRT), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and fire brigade department rushed to the location.
Senior army officials, officials of the city police, officials of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Nirbhaya Mobile reached the spot. Personnel of the armed forces and the city police surrounded the 'terrorists', killed two of them and arrested one.
