Aviation official suspended for misconduct

A deputy director of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Mumbai region, has been suspended for alleged misconduct.

The order, dated May 22, 2017, says that BS Tiwary, Regional Director, Mumbai Regional Office of BCAS — the country’s apex aviation security agency — has been suspended with immediate effect. It, however, doesn’t state any reason behind the move even though sources claimed that Tiwary had been pulled up for “insubordination”.

A copy of the order is with Mumbai Mirror.

Tiwary’s lawyer Rahul Walia and colleagues claimed that his superiors “implicated him in a frivolous case” after he refused to go to Imphal, where he was transferred, and got a stay on the order from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

He is in the process of moving the tribunal again to challenge his suspension order.
