Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport of Indore is going to have two direct flights to states like Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Jet Airways (India) has written to city airport authorities to allow it to operate two new flights that it plans to introduce on the Indore-Ahmedabad-Indore and Indore-Jaipur-Indore routes from July.
This comes in the leap of new flights introduced by Air India on Indore, Gwalior, Mumbai and Delhi routes recently.
"We have given approval to Jet Airways for operations of direct flights between Indore-Jaipur and Indore-Ahmedabad," Indore airport's director Aryama Sanyal said. She said the airline plans to start flights to these two destinations mid July.
She said though they have approved their proposal, a tentative schedule for the flights is expected to be released by the airlines soon. "As of now there is no direct flight to these two destinations, and passengers from different sectors have been demanding for direct flights to these two cities," she added.
