Pune: The Prime Minister's office (PMO) has forwarded a petition by city-based aviation analyst and expert Dhairyashil Vandekar seeking induction of Pune guardian minister Girish Bapat in the Pune airport advisory committee to Pune airport officials.
The induction of Bapat in the committee will help in smooth implementation of new projects at the airport, Vandekar has said.
"The issue dates back to October last year when I had sent a letter to the ministry of civil aviation explaining the need for induction of the guardian minister in the committee. The ministry had said that it was not possible since every state didn't have a guardian minister and rules should be uniform for everybody. Following the response, I sent a letter to the Prime Minister on April 6 this year explaining my stand" Vandekar told TOI.
In the letter sent to the civil aviation ministry as well as to the PMO, Vandekar has said that Bapat should be preferably be made the co-chairman of the committee.
