Navi Mumbai: Even as the state government has ordered an internal inquiry over chief minister Devendra Fadnavis' close helicopter call, Raigad policemen who witnessed the incident said on Saturday that it was odd for a chopper to take off before VIP passengers could be seated inside.
Meanwhile, TOI has procured fresh photographs of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis scampering away from the helicopter, which was already around four feet off the ground on Friday afternoon.
A Raigad police official who has several years of experience in escorting VIPs to and from helipads said the chopper's rotor blades suddenly began to rotate very fast even before the CM and other VIPs could board it.
"The pilot and the co-pilot were inside the helicopter. The CM was on the right side and minister Vinod Tawde on the left of the helicopter (Bell 230) when it took off," said the police official.
