The first flight of Air-India from the city to Jaipur, Dehradun and Bhopal drew an overwhelming response from passengers on Wednesday. Those who came to board the flight at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport at Amausi said they had been waiting for the direct flight for a long time.
The first flight departed at 8am from Lucknow to Dehradun with 62 passengers, while 64 boarded the flight to Jaipur and 70 from Jaipur for Lucknow. Number of passenger in the Bhopal flight was less the 30.
Speaking to TOI, Air-India station manager Shakeel Ahmad said there was big demand for direct flights to these destinations so on the first day, there was an encouraging response as the ATR-72 flight of Air-India departed with almost full capacity.
Many passengers who came to board the flight told TOI, it was their first experience of flying directly to and from Jaipur to Lucknow, while passengers for Dehradun said that despite being a short flight, we were served beverages and that it was big convenience for a circuit so short.
