Nagpur: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has advanced its deadline to withdraw its experienced and technical employees from the airport. The revision in deadline has placed MIHAN India Limited (MIL) in fix as the issue is related to safety and infrastructure of the airport.
On August 2, TOI reported about the AAI's decision to remove all its employees, excluding those working in ATC and CNS departments, with effect from September 1. The decision was taken following MIL's failure to pay dues of Rs50.54 crore to AAI for the last eight years.
MIL has started preparations to handle all the services on its own by engaging employees on contractual basis, and also outsourcing some of the works.
AAI general manager (HR) Nivedita Dubey sent a letter dated August 3 to airport directors/officer-in-charge of all stations situated in Western Region, including Nagpur, related to the decision of withdrawing the employees.
