Mumbai: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has initiated the tender process for appointment of Project Management Consultant for the construction of Terminal Building at the Jabalpur Airport, said Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha.
The AAI has decided to construct a new Terminal Building, an extension of the runway, a new apron, new ATC tower cum Technical Block, new Fire Station, install ILS, relocate DVOR, construct a boundary wall and perimeter road at Jabalpur Airport at an estimated cost of Rs. 421 Crores, said Sinha.
The proposed terminal building would be capable of handling 500 peak hour passengers. Existing terminal building can cater only to 75 arriving and 75 departing passengers, suitable for only one flight. Construction of new Terminal Building is intended to facilitate operation of 2 flights simultaneously with higher passenger load per aircraft, added the Minister.
