Belagavi: With work on the upgradation of the Belagavi airport drawing to a close , the Airport Authority of India (AAI) is expected to inaugurate several important newly built installations, including the hi-tech terminal building shortly.
A high powered delegation of the AAI that reviewed construction of the several ancilliary buildings and terminal was reportedly satisfied with the progress of the work.
The AAI delegation , headed by Mr Sanjeev Jindal, GM (Engineering-Civil) and Ms. Charul Shukla, Joint General Manager (architecture/planning), reportedly appreciated the efforts of AAI engineers and all agencies involved in the upgradation of different installations at the airport and suggested some minor changes. Several other works around the terminal building such as the garden and grass carpet are also on verge of completion.
When contacted, airport director, Rajesh Kumar Maurya, said the landscaping and garden were expected to be completed within the next 15 to 20 days and tenders for some other minor work outside the terminal building would be awarded shortly.
