Now, You Can Carry Extra Bags In Air India Flights Without Paying More

Air India has announced an attractive offer for passengers who want to carry extra baggage.  It will allow passengers to carry up to 25 kilograms of extra baggage but will not levy any charges for the same. This was said by the national carrier in a post on microblogging site Twitter. “#Carrymaximum with #AI. A whopping 25kg extra baggage allowance at #NoExtraCost only with #AirIndia. #FlyAI," Air India said. The move aims to garner more passengers for the debt-ridden carrier in which the government is looking to divest stake.
Riding on robust passenger traffic growth seen in the past few months, many airlines have time and again announced attractive discounts on fares under limited-period sales.

Private sector airline AirAsia India - a joint venture between Tata Sons and Malaysian carrier AirAsia - is offering all-inclusive tickets starting at Rs. 999 for select one-way flights under a limited-period promotional scheme. The scheme requires flyers to make advance bookings and is applicable on travel from February 26 to August 28, 2018, according to AirAsia India's website. Bookings under the AirAsia sale can be made till 27 August 2017, it noted.

Earlier this month, Air India offered tickets starting at Rs. 425 for some domestic flights and below Rs. 7,000 on select international flights in a limited-period scheme aimed at Independence Day.
Airlines in the domestic market carried 95.65 lakh passengers in of July 2017, as against 85.08 lakh in July 2016, registering a growth of more than 17 per cent, according to the government's monthly traffic data. The passenger load factor in July 2017 has shown a declining trend compared to the previous month primarily due to the end of tourist season, aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) said.
