2.5 kg of gold seized at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Excise and Customs Department seized about 2.5 kg of gold worth more than `74 lakh (in the form of biscuits) from a passenger coming from Dubai at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here on Sunday. The passenger who arrived in an international flight in Mumbai flew to Hyderabad by a Spicejet flight.

 Based on the inputs provided by the officials in Mumbai, the Customs officers in RGIA took the man into custody and found 21 gold biscuits in his luggage, weighing 2.448 kg. This is a huge cache of gold which was seized in the airport in the recent months.
