Air India employee arrested for stealing baggage from IGI Airport

New Delhi: A 23-year-old employee of Air India SATS was arrested for baggage theft. Police said that the accused Arnab Ghoshal was a B.Sc. graduate from West Bengal and has been working as Customer Service Agent (CSA) in Air India SATS, IGI Airport since past one and a half years. According to police on Monday, Kishan Lal an employee of AI SATS, was deputed for getting customs clearance of nine bags. He got custom clearance of these bags and went to Domestic Arrival for in line induction.
After some time, he noticed that one of the nine bags was missing. He reported the matter to his seniors. Thereafter, on the complaint was registered. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Sanjay Bhatia stated that investigation police team scanned the CCTV footage covering the arrival hall of International Terminal. During analysis of the CCTV footage, the suspected person was carrying the stolen bag. The accused was apprehended and interrogated where he confessed that he has stolen the bag. One more bag was also found in his room and on confronting the accused disclosed that the same was also stolen from him earlier.
