Mumbai woman booked for plane scare

Gurugram: A Mumbai-based woman, identified as Ayesha Negi, was booked for allegedly calling up Indigo airlines' call centre in Udyog Vihar on Thursday, and claiming there was a bomb in one of their planes that was ready for takeoff from Mumbai.
According to police, Sahil Singh Shekhawat, who is working with Indigo's holding company at Udyog Vihar 4, lodged a complaint at Udyog Vihar police station on Thursday evening, alleging that they had received a call for a bomb threat at 2.40pm.
"The caller claimed there was a bomb in an Indigo flight which was ready to take off from Mumbai airport. We tried calling her many times, but her phone was unavailable. Later when we tried to call her again we found her phone to be switched off," said Shekhawat in his complaint.
On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was registered against the woman under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Udyog Vihar police station.
Police said the woman has been indentified based on the mobile number from which she had made the call.
