New Delhi-bound Indigo flight makes ‘emergency return’ to Srinagar Airport

A flight of Indigo airlines on Monday had to make an emergency return to Srinagar International Airport soon after taking off due to “technical problem.”
Sources said the New Delhi bound Indigo flight 6E-694 made an emergency return to the minutes after it took off from the Srinagar Airport. However, authorities downplayed the issue claiming it was not an emergency situation but a precautionary measure due to some “technical issue.”
Soon after the Indigo flight took off, we were informed that the flight will make return to Srinagar Airport. We learnt the emergency return was made after pilot detected technical problem in the flight,” one of the passengers told Greater Kashmir.
He said most of the passengers onboard were in fear. “These were terrible moments. We were not sure if the flight would land safely,” said another passenger, who wished not to be named.
A group of passengers said that they had refused to again board the flight and requested authorities to arrange alternative flight. “However, the request was turned down. It is irresponsible and negligent behavior of the company. The safety of passengers must be its priority. How they had failed to check the quantity of fuel. We were lucky that the fuel didn’t exhaust mid air,” they said.
