Bhubaneswar: In a good news for air travellers in Odisha, Malaysia-based low-cost airline AirAsia has decided to launch daily direct international flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur from October 26 (Thursday).
This was confirmed by Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Bhubaneswar Director Suresh Chandra Hota.
Official sources said the plane will take off at 11:55 PM.
The Malaysian low-cost airline was providing the service in the preliminary phase four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
On April 26, AirAsia has added Bhubaneswar to the list of destinations in India with four weekly direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, making AirAsia Group’s 16th route into India.
The low-cost carrier, on February 17, had signed a pact with the Odisha government for running direct international flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur.
