Ajay Singh, the co-founder of low-cost carrier, Spicejet joined the long list of top industrialists such as Adi Godrej, Sunil Mittal and Prakash Hinduja to have back Prime Minister Narendra Modi, even as the government faces severe backlash from opposition, party-men and global rating agencies for slowing economic growth. In an interview to ET Now, Ajay Singh said, “We should not judge an economy by the performance of one-quarter. I am sure the government will take note.” Singh said this in reference to India’s GDP growth, which continued to disappoint for the second straight quarter, slowing down to a mere 5.7% in Apr-Jun and pitting the country behind China on the list of world’s fastest growing major economies.
Ajay Singh went on to say that this 5-year term of government will be the best in Indian history. Just yesterday, Prakash Hinduja, India’s third richest man.
