Man who fled country fearing arrest held

Coimbatore: A city resident, against whom a case of dowry harassment is pending, was held at the Cochin International Airport in Kerala on Saturday night, whilea native of Kerala, who was wanted in an abetment of suicide case, was detained at the city airport on Sunday morning.
Prabhu, 37, of Nanjappar Street at Ramanathapuram here, was detained by the immigration officials at the Cochin international airport where he landed from Malaysia on Saturday around 8.30pm.
A yoga master in Malaysia, Prabhu faces a charge under Sections 498 A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. According to police, his wife Pavithra of Udayampalayam had lodged a complaint against Prabhu, his mother Saraswathi and younger brother Sathiskumar, last year. When Prabhu escaped to Malaysia, Ramanathapuram all-woman police had issued the red corner notice against him.
